Josh Duhamel was born on 14 November 1972 in Minot, North Dakota in U.S.A. He was born in the home of Larry David Duhamel, an advertising salesman, and Bonnie, a physical education teacher. His parents were separated in his youth, and he lived with his mother, but he is close to both his parents. He was a student of the Minot State University and was a part of the university’s football team.
He is married to Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson, a singer for ‘The Black Eyed Peas’, a hip hop group. Both of them have purchased together, a house in Brentwood, and they live together in that house. Duhamel co-owns a restaurant, named 10 North Main, in the downtown section of Minot, North Dakota.
Before he began to act, he was a model. In 1997, he won the Male Model of the Year title in the modeling competition held by International Modeling and Talent Association. He started his career in acting by appearing as an extra for the music video of the song ‘I Will Go With You’, sung by Donna Summer, and in the song ‘Genie in a Bottle’, sung by Christian Aguilera.
He earned a role in the soap opera ‘All My Children’ in 1999. Then, in 2003, he was cast in the series ‘Las Vegas‘. He appeared in the film called ‘Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!’ in 2004. After this, he appeared in some more films like ‘Turistas‘ (2006) and ‘Transformers’ (2007). He will soon be seen in the film ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’, which will be released in June 2009.
He won the Daytime Emmy in 2002, for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, for his role in ‘All My Children’ and he was nominated for the same in 2001 and 2003. He earned the nomination for Daytime Emmy’s Special Fan Award under the category of America’s Favorite Couple, for ‘All My Children’ in 2002. In 2007, he was nominated for the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actor: Horror/Thriller for ‘Turistas’ and for Choice Movie: Rumble for ‘Transformers‘. In 2004, he was nominated for the same award for the Choice Breakout Movie Star- Male as well as Choice Movie Liar for ‘Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!’, for Choice Breakout TV Star-Male for ‘Las Vegas‘ and for Choice TV Actor- Drama/Action Adventure for ‘Las Vegas’. He was a nominee for the Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Younger Lead Actor for ‘All My Children‘ in 2001.
